Transcripts

Students or alumni who need a copy of their academic record (called a ‘transcript’) must request an official transcript online. The official transcript arranges the academic record in semester sequence, prints on official paper, and contains the RISD seal and signature of the Registrar. The transcript is a complete and permanent record of all courses and grades taken at the institution while enrolled. As such, requests to remove courses from the transcript are not entertained.

Transcript ordering is provided through the National Student Clearinghouse, a non-profit organization serving the higher education community. Transcripts are ordered online using any major credit card. A link to the transcript request page is available on the Registrar’s website in the ‘Frequently Requested Forms’ section, or directly through the Clearinghouse website at: getmytranscript.com (select Rhode Island School of Design). If you have a financial hold preventing transcript ordering and you require a transcript for employment purposes and are unable to fulfill your financial obligations to the Institution at this time, please contact the office associated with your hold. There may be potential for a one-time, temporary release allowing you to order a transcript.

Generally, electronic pdf transcripts are processed within minutes and printed transcripts are processed within 2-4 business days, except during registration or certain times of the year when requests are especially heavy.

The Registrar’s Office accepts electronic transcripts from Parchment, The National Student Clearinghouse, and e-SCRIP-SAFE. Check the Registrar’s Office website for further information.
